The annual meeting of Ukrainian operative obstetricians and gynecologists brought together over 300 participants from all regions of Ukraine.
The event featured a rich and dynamic program that included sessions of live surgery, discussions of emergency obstetric and gynecologic conditions, development of operative strategies, and presentations on prevention and management of complications. The sessions, which lasted from early morning until late evening, maintained the audience’s attention through their high professional level and strong practical orientation.
Particular attention was devoted to the analysis of complex surgical cases aimed at preserving the uterus, ensuring the realization of women’s reproductive potential, and promoting the birth of healthy children — this concept became the main focus and guiding strategy of the conference.
The meeting also highlighted advancements in ultrasound, CT, and MRI diagnostics, the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, oncologic vigilance in cases of uterine fibroids, and the adequacy and quality of histological examinations. These topics were presented by leading experts in radiology and laboratory diagnostics.
Speakers repeatedly emphasized the crucial role of teamwork in the operating theater — the professionalism of the surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, anesthetic nurses, scrub and circulating nurses, and the importance of high-precision modern equipment in performing hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, vaginal, and laparotomic surgeries.
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Family Planning of Sumy State University was represented by Dr. Tetiana Kopytsia, obstetrician-gynecologist and oncogynecologist, who presented a report on the use of the shaver technique in the treatment of uterine pathology.
Armed with new knowledge, practical experience, and inspiration, participants returned to their clinical practice — implementing advanced approaches in obstetrics and gynecology for the benefit of women’s health in Ukraine.
